Setting or Fault?
Before chasing a fault, rule out the ordinary. A True unit that was recently loaded with warm items, had its door left open, or sits in a hot spot will read off for a while and then settle. Give a set-point change a full day before judging it. A model-specific problem is a unit that never reaches its set point, or one that swings noticeably up and down, with none of those ordinary explanations present.

The Common Causes
When the drift is real, the thermistor, the temperature sensor the control reads, is a frequent culprit; when it drifts out of calibration, the control manages the temperature to the wrong target. A slowing or seized evaporator or condenser fan disrupts the airflow that holds the temperature even. And a worn door seal lets warm, humid air leak in, which shows as both a warm reading and condensation. Each is a standard OEM repair.
Wine Cabinets and Multi-Zone Units
On True wine cabinets and multi-zone units, a single zone drifting while others hold points to that zone's sensor or fan rather than a whole-unit fault. Keep the condenser clean and avoid overfilling so air can circulate; if a zone still will not hold with a clean condenser, it is a sensor or fan, both serviceable. Stable temperature matters most for wine, so a persistent drift is worth correcting promptly.
